It’s week 19 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re going to make the Diamond stitch again, but this time with 2 colours to really make those beautiful diamonds stand out

This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:
- yo (yarn over
- sc (single crochet) = Double crochet
- dc (double crochet) = treble crochet
- tr (treble crochet) = Double treble crochet

The Pattern

Row 1. With Colour C join into the stitch after the 2nd corner stitch on the long side above the Wiggle stitch Panel (the stitch after you finished the arrow stitch panel).
Chain 1, and make a sc in the same stitch. Make a sc in each stitch across – 75 stitches
Row 2. Turn, ch1. Make a dc turning chain in the 1st stitch. Make a dc on each stitch across
Row 3. Turn, ch1. Make a sc in the 1st stitch, but change to Colour A in the last 2 loops. Now we’ll make our first front post treble. Yarn over twice and Insert your hook around the post of the 4th sc 2 rows below.
Finish the stitch as a tr, changing to Colour C in the last 2 loops.*Sc in the next 3 stitches, changing back to Colour A in the last sc. Carry Colour A at the back of your work, making your stitches over the top.
Next make a fptr2tog. Yarn over twice. Insert your hook around the post of the same stitch 2 rows below you used before. Yo, pull through 2 loops, yo pull through 2 loops. Leave the last 2 loops on your hook.
Skip the next 3 stitches 2 rows below. Yo twice. Insert your hook around the sc post and pull up a loop. yo and pull through 2 loops, yo pull through 2 loops, then change to Colour C, yo and pull through the last 3 loops*
Repeat between *and* in the 2nd to last stitch make a fptr around the post you just finished working around. Sc in the last stitch.
Cut off Colour A, but keep Colour C attached.
Row 4. Turn, ch1. Make a dc turning chain in the 1st stitch. dc in each stitch across.
Row 5. Turn, chain 1. Sc in the first 3 stitches, switching to Colour A in the last 2 loops of the 3rd sc *Make a fptr2tog working around the fptr stitches 2 rows below. Switch back to Colour C in the last 2 loops.
sc in the next 3 stitches, carrying Colour A as you go* Repeat between *and*
When you have 2 stitches left, we need to make a fptr around the fptr 2 rows below. Then make a sc in the last stitch
Cut off Colour A, but keep Colour C attached
Row 6. Turn, chain 1. Make a dc turning chain in the 1st stitch. Dc in each stitch across
Row 7. Repeat row 3, except you will be working around the posts of the fptr instead of sc.
Row 8. Repeat row 4
Row 9. Repeat row 5
Row 10. Repeat row 6
Cut off and weave in your ends
