It’s week 27 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re making the Bobblet stitch to make a flower scattered lawn. The Bobblets look like mini bobbles and we’ll be making then in separate colours to the background colour to really make them stand out and look like little flowers
If you would like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for just £5 from Ravelry
This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:
- sc (single crochet) = Double crochet
- dc (double crochet) = treble crochet
If you would like to follow my colour scheme in either Paintbox Cotton Aran or Caron Simply Soft, you can find my colours here

Row 1. Starting on the back of your blanket, join with Colour A into the stitch above the corner of the plain diamond panel on the back side. Make a dc starting chain in the first stitch. Make a dc in each stitch across, until you reach the stitch made in the last stitch of the diamond panel – 87 stitches
Row 2. Turn and ch1. Make a sc in the 1st stitch. Start a sc in the next stitch, but change to Colour O in the last 2 loops for your 1st bobblet.
Make a Bobblet in next stitch – insert your hook into the next stitch, then yarn over and pull through the 1st loop only.
Repeat this until you have a chain of 4.
Then yarn over and pick up Colour A again and pull through both loops.
*sc in next 7 stitches, change colour (see colour list below) then make a bobblet, switch back to Colour A*
I have chosen to change the colour of my bobblet each time. This us so that I get diagonal lines of each colour up my panel. However this does mean that I’m carrying colours up the panel, leaving the carried threads on show up the back. This also means that all the colours stay attached for the majority of this panel. This is a lot of threads to keep turning, so you may wish to keep only one colour of Bobblet in each row, and carry your colours instead.
The colours I’ve used, in order of use are
Colour O (light Blue)
Colour N (Yellow)
Colour J (Fuschia)
Colour L (Orange)
Colour H (Dark Blue)
Colour P (Plum)
Colour D (Yellow)
Colour M (Red)
Colour K (Pink)
Colour I (Purple)
Colour G (Lilac)
To finish the row, sc in the last 6 stitches

Row 4. Turn, chain 1. Make a sc in the 1st stitch. Sc in the next 5 stitches, changing colour in the last stitch. Make a bobblett in the following stitch
*Make a sc in the next 7 stitches, changing colour in the last stitch (Follow the colour list above), make a bobblet, changing back to Colour A before making the next stitch* Make a sc in the last 2 stitches.
