It’s week 5 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re going to attach our Daisies, then we’ll add a path around our Lawn.
If you would like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for just £5 from Ravelry
This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:
- Slst = Slip Stitch
- dc (double crochet) = treble crochet
If you would like to follow my colour scheme in either Paintbox Cotton Aran or Caron Simply Soft, you can find my colours here

First we’re going to attach all 8 of our Daisies.
Arrange your daisies around your lawn until you’re happy with the placement. Take care not to have them too close to the edge, as we’ll be working around our lawn later.

Next we need to attach them using the tail we left. Using a darning needle, weave the tail end into the stitches of your lawn where you want your daisy to be placed. Weave into both your lawn and the underside of your daisy until the attachment is secure. Cut off the end.
Now we will be working around the edge of our lawn
Round 1. Join into any stitch around the edge with Colour F. Slst into each stitch. You will have 45 stitches across the top and bottom
Down the sides make:
1 slst into the side of each sc row
2 slst into the side of each dc row
3 slst into the side of each tr Row

You will have 56 stitches down each long side.
You don’t need to add any extra stitches for the corners
Join into your first slst – 202 slst in total

Round 2. Working into the same slst, make a dc turning chain. Dc into the back loop of every slst around. When you reach the last slst on each side (at the corners) make 2dc in the corner stitch. Slst into the 1st dc – 206 dc for the round

Round 3. In the same stitch as the last slst, make a dc turning chain. Dc in both loops of every stitch around. Then when you reach the corner where you made 2 dc in the same stitch in round 3, make 2 dc in the 2nd dc of that pair.

Slst into the 1st dc – 210 dc in total for the round.
Cut off and weave in your ends, and Week 5 is complete. Click here for week 6
