Week Thirty Of The Country Garden Crochet Along

Week 30 Of The Country Garden Crochet Along

It’s week 30 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re making a corner piece using the Paris stitch that will be attached between the Ribbon stitch and BiStitch panels. The Paris stitch is a beautiful single row repeat stitch which a lovely texture.

If you would like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for just £5 from Ravelry

This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:

  • ch (Chain)
  • sc (single crochet) = Double crochet
  • dc (double crochet) = treble crochet

If you would like to follow my colour scheme in either Paintbox Cotton Aran or Caron Simply Soft, you can find my colours here

With Colour J make a foundation chain of 20 – if you tend to chain tightly, you may want to use a 5.5mm hook for your chain before switching back to a 5mm for Row 1

Row 1. In the 3rd chain from your hook (the turning chain counts as your 1st stitch) make a sc. Make a sc in each stitch across – 19 stitches

Row 2. Turn, chain 1. Make a dc turning chain in the 1st stitch. Make a dc in the same stitch as your turning chain.

Skip the next 2 stitches. *in the next stitch make (2dc, ch2, sc) all in the same stitch. Skip the next 2 stitches* repeat between *and* then in the last stitch make 2dc

2dc, ch2, sc all in the same stitch

Rows 3 – 18. Turn, chain 1. Make a dc turning chain in the 1st stitch then make a dc in the same stitch.

*skip straight to the next chain space and make (2dc, ch2, sc) all in the same space*

repeat between *and* after the last chain space skip to the last stitch and make 2dc

Your completed Paris piece

Now you can cut off and weave in your ends.

Now you need to attach this piece between the Ribbon and BiStitch panels by Whip stitching them together.

Turn everything over so you are working on the back side. Using the back loops on both pieces, sew them together.

On the long side of this week’s piece you will sew make 2 stitches into the side of each dc row and 1 stitch into the side of the sc row

On the short sides you will stitch them together stitch for stitch
