It’s week 31 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re making a corner piece using the Mini Basketweave stitch that will be attached between the Moss stitch and BiStitch panels. This is a super easy repeating stitch that has a woven look to it
If you would like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for just £5 from Ravelry
This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:
- ch (Chain)
- fpdc (Front post double crochet) = Front post treble crochet
- bpdc (back post double crochet) = Back post treble crochet
If you would like to follow my colour scheme in either Paintbox Cotton Aran or Caron Simply Soft, you can find my colours here

With Colour K, make a foundation chain of 37 – if you tend to chain tightly, you may want to use a 5.5mm hook for your chain before switching back to a 5mm for Row 1.
Row 1. In the 4th chain from your hook (your turning chain counts as your 1st stitch) make a dc. dc in each stitch across – 35 dc
Row 2. Turn, chain 1 and make a dc turning chain in the 1st stitch. *fpdc in the next stitch, bpdc in the next stitch*
Repeat between *and* then dc in the last stitch – 35 stitches
Rows 3 – 12. Repeat row 2
All your fpdc stitches should be made around the bpdc in the previous row, and all of your bpdc should be made around the fpdc in the previous row
You can now cut off and weave in your ends.
Now you need to attach this piece between the Moss and BiStitch panels by Whip stitching them together.
Turn everything over so you are working on the back side. Using the back loops on both pieces, sew them together.
On the long side of this week’s piece you will sew them together stitch for stitch.
On the short sides you need to make 2 stitches into the side of Row 1 then 2 stitches into the next row, *1 stitch into the next row*
repeat between *and* until you have whip stitched the whole side together.
