It’s week 36 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re making another 2 rounds of our outer border which will represent a beautiful clear blue sky. It’s a nice easy week once you get the hang of where you need to put your stitches behind your butterflies.
If you would like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for just £5 from Ravelry
This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:
- ch (Chain)
- dc (double crochet) = treble crochet
If you would like to follow my colour scheme in either Paintbox Cotton Aran or Caron Simply Soft, you can find my colours here

Round 1. Carrying on from last week with Colour O a dc chain in the same stitch you slst into from the last round. Make a dc in every stitch around.
When you reach the 2nd corner stitch, make 2dc.
When you reach your butterflies, take care to avoid the joins, and only make a dc into the sc stitches.
When you get back round to the beginning, slst into the starting chain.
You should have 161 dc on the long sides and 117 dc on the short sides making 555 dc in total
Round 2. In the same stitch that you slst into, make a dc chain. Make a dc in each stitch around, making 2dc in the 2nd corner stitch.
When you get back round to the beginning, slst into the starting chain
That’s it for this week, you can now cut off Colour O. We will be weaving in our ends next week
