Week Twenty Five Of The Country Garden Crochet Along

Week 25 Of The Country Garden Crochet Along

It’s week 25 of the Country Garden crochet along. This week we’re making the Ribbon stitch to add a colourful patch to our blanket. This is a slow stitch to make, so we’ll be completing this panel next week. This stitch is made by making a single crochet two together over the top of a second colour of yarn, which then shows through the stitches.

If you would like the ad free printable version, it is available either as part of my Lifetime Pattern Pass, or you can purchase it on its own for just £5 from Ravelry

This pattern is written in US terms, but the UK translation are:

  • ch (Chain)
  • sc (single crochet) = Double crochet
  • sc2tog (single crochet 2 together) = Double crochet 2 together

If you would like to follow my colour scheme in either Paintbox Cotton Aran or Caron Simply Soft, you can find my colours here

We’ll be starting this panel on the wrong side of your blanket as all the detail for this stitch will show at the back. Turn over, and join into the stitch into the 2nd corner square with Colour C

We’ll be working above the colour work diamond stitch panel this week

Row 1. Hold a thread of Colour A, and work your sc2tog stitches over the top of this in Colour C.

In the first stitch insert your hook, yo, pull up a loop, in the next stitch insert your hook then yo pull up a loop. yo pull through all 3 loops.

Pull through all 3 loops

*working in the same stitch that you just finished your last stitch yo, pull up a loop, in the next stitch, insert your hook then yo pull up a loop. yo pull through all 3 loops*

repeat between *and*

start your next stitch in the same stitch as the last one

You will finish the row in the 1st corner stitch. Make a sc in the last stitch to finish – this will be in the same stitch you finished your last sc2tog.

Drop Colour A and cut off. Keep Colour C attached – 115 stitches in each row

All the detail will be on the back of the stitch, and you should see the carried thread between your stitches

All the detail will be on the back of the row
